The Fork & Cork restaurant brand has been successfully operating in Bangkok for over 30 years. Their latest branch recently opened in August 2018 and is located in the lobby of the W22 by Burasari boutique hotel in Bangkok’s famous bustling Chinatown.
Adopting the hotel’s chic decor of vibrant colors contrasted with steely industrial edginess, this casual bar and restaurant offers an extensive menu of creative Thai and Western dishes, signature cocktails, beers, and wines. It’s an excellent venue for meeting up with friends, and as a springboard for further exploration of the Yaowarat area.
Fork & Cork’s Western menu sports many comfort foods such as pasta, European fare, and sandwiches.
Pasta lovers can’t go wrong with the Spaghetti Bolognese (250 baht), a filling dish of saucy minced meat, noodles, fresh basil leaves, and grated parmesan.
For a dish that will stick to your ribs, try the Fish and Chips (340 baht) which is served with 2 filets of lightly beer-battered deep-fried white fish, peas, and potato wedges. The crispy batter and flaky meat will warm your soul with a smear of tartar sauce.
They also have a generous selection of burgers and sandwiches. Their popular Club Sandwich (220 baht) is loaded with chicken, ham, egg, and cheese and served with potato chips which make it a substantial meal in itself or something to share.
Craving something more local? Fork & Cork’s Thai menu contains many traditional local dishes. One favored dish is the Stir Fried Asparagas with Shrimp (255 baht), a mound of large prawns and tender asparagus sticks tossed with oyster sauce and sprinkled with crunchy fried garlic.
Still craving shrimp? Try the Som Tom Tod (260 baht), a deep-fried battered papaya salad with a ring of prawns circling the sweet and spicy dipping sauce bowl. It’s an excellent dish to be shared as an appetizer amongst friends!
For a more filling main, the Pad Pak Ruammitre Pork (250 baht), a stir-fried dish with vegetables, pork, and oyster sauce is a must-try. The crisp vegetables and tender slices of marinated pork make for an excellent meal.
A 5 minute walk from the Wat Mangkorn MRT station, Fork & Cork’s convenient location and casual chic vibe makes it a perfect place to meet up with friends for excellent food and beverages in Bangkok’s Chinatown!
